Detailed Description of columns:

Date -- The pond loggers were first deployed between July 7 (Ponds A,B,D,E,F) and July 14 (Ponds C,G,H) in 2013 and set to record every 5 minutes. The loggers were switched to logging every 15 minutes on July 26th 2013. In the following field seasons, the loggers were set to record every 5 minutes between June and September and then set to record every 15 minutes between October and May of each year.

Pond -- Eight ponds had HOBO loggers deployed in them, ponds that had a depth of < 30 cm had only one logger deployed ~ 10 cm below the water surface, if the pond was > 30 cm depth then two loggers were deployed, on at the pond bottom and the other placed ~ 10 cm below the pond surface and ~ 5 cm above the pond bottom. DAILY AVERAGE TEMPERATURES PRESENTED HERE ARE FROM THE BOTTOM LOGGERS OF PONDS C,D,E,F,G,H AND SURFACE LOGGERS OF PONDS A AND B.

DailyAvgPondTemperature -- Daily average pond temperature was calculated based on the average of data collected every 5 minutes or every 15 minutes depending on the season (see Date description). Pond temperature was measured using HOBO Water Temp Pro v2, model U22-001 loggers (Onset Computer Corp, Bourne, MA) in all ponds sampled in 2014 and beyond (all ponds except Pond G which stopped sampling in June, 2014). If pond depth was > 30cm, then two loggers were deployed, with one logger placed at the pond bottom, and the other placed ~10 cm below the pond surface. Daily average pond temperature presented here consist of averages of bottom loggers (if two were present: ponds C - H) or surface loggers (if one was present: ponds A & B). Instrument error is +/- .21 Celsius (from 0 - 50 Celsius; see Water Temp Pro v2 manual for more details)
